tightrope

we're walking such a tightrope
in our quest for the design
we be falling off the catwalk
for the fortyseventh time
there's a contrast in exposure
that our eyes can not discern
but we know we're drawing closer
when the forms become a blur
we see the face we long to love
the further ranging lord
the justice where we can't pretend
to have what we deserve
but it lets us in the kingdom
where we doubt our spotless clothes
and we're digging up the rags beneath
to show what orphans are
if we fully grasped these concepts
we'd probably be dead
but we're feeling out the pathway
to that shaky light ahead.

Savannah, this is my favourite, and arguably the best you've written so far. It's poignant, revealing and invasive-not to mention riddled with truth. I love you so.
